Download ready output files
Use the asset IDs returned by a terminal task or asset search. GET /api/v1/assets/{assetId}/download and MCP get_download_url authorize access using the account's existing download entitlement and return a temporary URL with file information.
To download an existing character's design, call list_characters and pass its non-null currentDesignFileId as get_download_url.assetId. Do not pass currentDesignAssetId: that is the character asset binding, not the stored file. DOWNLOAD_ASSET_UNAVAILABLE means no owned ready, untrashed file matches the supplied ID.
The MCP tool returns url, fileName, sizeBytes and expiresAt. Fetch url to save the actual PNG or other file bytes; receiving a URL alone does not mean the file has been downloaded.
curl --fail-with-body "$BASE_URL/api/v1/assets/$ASSET_ID/download" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SPRITEFLOW_API_KEY"Download the URL before it expires. Request a new URL after expiration. Historical assets stored outside Sprite Flow return their source URL with expiresAt: null, which means Sprite Flow cannot determine its expiration. Do not store the URL as a permanent asset reference; store the asset ID.
Available export formats
Available files depend on the business and completed media processing. Character and environment workflows produce image assets; animation workflows may provide sprite sheets and other generated export files; music and effects produce audio. Treat the actual asset list and MIME types as the source of truth instead of synthesizing filenames or URLs.
Use the workspace export controls for available Unity and Godot packaging. This integration does not promise an Unreal Engine import workflow or expose a universal engine-export API.
Partial results and access errors
A partially completed batch can still expose successful files. A failed download authorization does not mean generation failed: inspect the error for ownership, key scope, plan entitlement or unavailable asset. Do not regenerate a file to work around a download permission problem.
